Mary Ellen Andrew, age 97, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. Mary Ellen was a devout Catholic with a loving spirit and frequently shared baked goods with others. She was known as the cookie lady at St. Vincent de Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Andrew Sr.; and by a daughter Mary Eileen Duckro. She is survived by sons, Elwood "Woody" (Joanne) Andrew, John (Mary Jo) Andrew, and Gary (Deanna) Andrew; a daughter, Sr. Sue Andrew A.S.C.; brother, Patrick (Joann) Somers; son-in-law, Charlie Duckro; sister-in- law, Dorothy Somers; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., 45429. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
