Afternoon

Mrs. Annie L. Adams, of this city, passed away
at the Cambridge hospital, where she had
been a patient for some months, on Friday
evening last. She was seventy-six years
of age.

Mrs. Adams, who was the daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. John Somers, of this city, was
one of the most esteemed and respected
citizens of this section and had hundreds of
warm friends who were greatly shocked and
grieved to learn of her passing. She was a
sweet, motherly lady and was loved by all
with whom she came in contact.

Surviving are her husband, William Adams and
two children, Elwood Adams, of Philadelphia,
Pa., and Mrs. Alice Dize, of Crisfield. One
brother, Lewis Somers, of this city, also
survives.

Funeral services were held from her late home
on Chesapeake avenue on Monday afternoon
at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. C. M. Elderdice,
pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church,
officiating.

Interment was in the family plot in the Crisfield
cemetery. Pall bearers were Kirk Somers,
Grover Adams, Webster Adams, Gordon
Adams, Ernest Adams and Ralph Somers.
