Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Monday, March 29, 2010, at Nelson-House Funeral Home, with Pastor Dean Rhine officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 6 pm.
Lila was born to Tom and Anna (Wolfe) Somers on January 7, 1921, in Chapin, Michigan. She graduated from Elsie High School in 1939 and from the School of Cosmetology in Saginaw, Michigan.
On June 20, 1941, she married Edward Adams. They were devoted to each other and enjoyed sixty-four years of marriage before he predeceased her in October 2005. Lila loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and always found great pleasure in cooking, caring and giving to them. She also enjoyed teaching young children in Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann (Glen) Reynolds of Owosso; her son, Tom (Harriet) Adams of Owosso; granddaughter, Lisa (Rob) Rozema of Grand Rapids; grandson, John (Natasha) Adams of Owosso; great-grandsons, Aidan and Seth Rozema; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; grandson, Brent Adams; sister, Neva Locke; brother, Gale Somers; brother-in-law, Elton Locke; and sister-in-law, Christie Somers.
