Evelyn Eleanor Babina died peacefully at her home in Burleson on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, with family members at her bedside. Service: 11 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Prairie. Burial: will follow in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington. Visitation: 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Anson, Maine. Evelyn moved to Grand Prairie in 1948 with her family from Connecticut, when Chance Vought Aircraft defense plant relocated here. Evelyn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Later in her life she was very involved in missionary work. She loved the church. Evelyn was an LVN and worked for Great Southwest Hospital in Grand Prairie, and Huguley Memorial Hospital in Burleson. Evelyn and her husband, who retired from Chance Vought, moved to Burleson in 1979. Evelyn understood the purpose of life on earth, and looked forward to her continued life throughout eternity to be with her husband and family in our heavenly Father's kingdom. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander "Bambi" Babina, and grandson, Bobby Babina. Survivors: Her sisters, Elsie Bitsco of Connecticut, Patricia Patterson of Rendon; brother, Richard J. Somers of California; and her sons, Alex, Mark and Joe and their families. She had seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
