June 8, 2001 at the Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness, in her 79th year, surrounded by her loving family and caring staff of the Cardiac Care Unit. Wife of the late William T. Rynasko and beloved mother of Susan (David Nichol), Toronto, and Rick, Kingston. Proud Gran of Margaret and Heather Nichol, Toronto. Daughter of the late James and Annabelle Soutter, Kingston. Elizabeth is survived by brothers Donald Soutter of Ottawa, and Gordon Soutter (Janet) of St. Mary's Ontario and is predeceased by sisters and brothers Jean Sproule, Elsie Clements, Stuart Soutter, and Rev. James Soutter. "Aunty Lovey" will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the United States. Born in Ottawa, Elizabeth lived with her military family in Halifax, Saint John, and Quebec City before settling in Kingston prior to WWII. Her career spanned the C.W.A.C., many years with the Kingston Whig Standard and St. Lawrence College. Elizabeth's exceptional word-smithing, her love of nature and deep religious faith, characterized a vital and caring person. She leaves with many fond memories her friends at The Bayshore, the St. John's Portsmouth Bible Study Group, the Kingston Gaelic Society, her Alzheimer Survivors Support Group and St. Paul's Anglican Church where Elizabeth found peace and joy. The family will receive friends at the Robert J. Reid and Sons Funeral Home 309 Johnson Street (at Barrie Street) on Monday between the hours of 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and at St Paul's Anglican Church (Queen Street at Montreal Street) on Tuesday from 1p.m. until Funeral Service time at 3 p.m. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the St. Paul's Restoration Fund or the charity of their choice.
