Catherine Young Grinager, a resident of Nampa, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Her birth name was Catherine Mable Marie Soutter, born on Nov. 27, 1924, to Robert B. Soutter and IDella Mildred Stephens in Kansas City, Kan. Catherine attended school in Hutchinson, Kansas City and Topeka, KS. She married and lived in Minnesota for a time then returned to Topeka, after her divorce from Clarence Flatland. She met and married Arnie Young and traveled to Japan, Ethiopia and many places in the United States. They followed his orders with the Army, he was a career man. She lived at Fort Reily, KS, Fort Rucker, AL, and Provo, UT. After Arnie's death she moved to Idaho and met and married Maynard Grinager, where they live now. Catherine worked with the Battered Wives Shelter for a time; she was a member of the Eastern Star and really loved golfing. She has made many good friends here in Idaho.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter Cheryle Jones from AK; five grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Graves and Virgina Crane, both from OK, and Nancy Ehrilich from CA; her beloved niece Michelle Turner from ID, and many others.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Maynard Grinager; her parents Robert B. Soutter and IDella Robinson; her son Carl Young; brother Bruce O. Robinson from Nampa; and a sister Pauline Beatrup.
