Julia was born in Ansonia, Jan. 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Thomas Spivak and Tatiana Zelem Spivak. She had been an Oxford resident for many years and was a member of the Oxford Garden Club.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Lavalette and her husband, Gary, of Wallingford, and Sandra Pascoe and her husband, Ron, of Naugatuck; her son, Thomas Martin and his wife, Jan, of Mesquite, Texas; her seven grandchildren, Jonathan Martin, Justin Lavalette, Jillian Meyer, Ryan Lavalette, Dennis O'Connor, Rachel O'Connor and Erik O'Connor; her great-grandchild, Madison Meyer; her three sisters, Ann Deren of New York, Annette DiMauro of Prospect and Carol Vansak and her husband, Vladimi,r of Oxford; her brother, Michael Spivak of Seymour; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two sisters, Mary Bankert and Helen Graziano, her brother, John Spivak, her stepsister, Christine Warrien, and her stepbrother, Joseph Warrien.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Ramage 2 and the ACU at Masonicare Health Center, as well as her hospice team for all their wonderful care. A special thank you to Bridget.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford, Monday, Dec. 21, from 9 until 10:50 a.m. A funeral service will be held in The Yalesville Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck.
