Pauline worked as a milliner in Kharkov, Ukraine. She and her first husband, Benjamin Brucker, came to the U.S. in 1906. They had a dairy farm in Hunter Township-Village, Greene County NY for a few years, but later moved to NYC, where Benjamin was a furrier. After Benjamin's 1925 death, Pauline married Louis Aronson, a leather dealer, in 1931.
