She and Paul celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2000 and Paul passed in 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents Leland V. Springer and Haley A. Springer and also her two brothers Vern E. Springer and Leland V. Springer.
Surviving her are sisters-in-law Betty and Mary Christy and Jean Springer, 2 nephews Dennis and Mark Springer, 3 nieces Karen Blaydoe, Carol Shadle and Myra Buschmeier and a host of friends and caregivers.
Alice grew up on the Eastside of Indianapolis and was a former member of Emerson Avenue Baptist Church.
Alice was past grand president of Chi Chi Chi Sorority and a 50 year member of Alpha Chapter. She was also past state president of the Garden Club of Indiana Inc, past central district director – master flower show judge, past president of Indiana Association of accredited flower show judges – member of Fall Creek garden club – former member and past president of Nancy Hanks travel study club and former member and past president of WINS (women in neighborhood services). She also worked as a volunteer with Republican women and assisted while Mayor Hudnut was in office.
She loved all of nature – birds and animals – but especially her poodles.
Alice retired from the U. S. Department of Agriculture in 1978 after working there for 37 years.
