Laura always said she was born in 1894 but I saw her birth entry in the Van Wert County, Ohio Department of Health which is in 1893 and her marriage application in Adams County also says 1893.

Laura married Walter Elza Eichar 30 June 1912 in Adams County, Indiana. They had 4 children. After Walter died in 1945 she married Floyd Acker in 1950.

Laura O. Acker, 86, 235 N. Third St., died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday at the Adams County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since February 12.

Born April 9, 1894 in Mercer County , Ohio , she was the daughter of Louis and Esther Mathason Springer. She was married in 1912 to Walter Eichar, who passed away January 3, 1945, and in 1950 was married to Floyd Acker, who died in April of 1972.

A housewife, Mrs. Acker was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

Survivors include three children, Clois Eicher of Decatur , Mrs. Harry (Nina) L. Brown of Fort Wayne , and Donn Eichar, also of Fort Wayne ; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A daughter, Fay Lehman, passed away in 1961; also deceased are four sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zwick, Boltz & Jahn Funeral Home, Rev. Harold Ley in charge, and burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday; the family will receive friends from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m that day.
