OSCEOLA - Jean G. Cravens, 71, of Osceola, IN, died at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at her home. She was born July 7, 1939 in Mishawaka, IN, to Alex and Sophia (Golba) Springer.

On February 4, 1961 in Mishawaka, IN, she married James Edward Cravens. He died on February 10, 1989 in Edwardsburg, MI.

Surviving are two sons, Jeff (Rhonda) Cravens of Niles, MI, Ted Cravens of Osceola, IN; a daughter, Jeanice L. (Thomas) Andrezejewski of Mishawaka, IN. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Branden Cravens, Kaleigh Cravens, Kristen Cravens, Anthony Cravens, Samantha Cravens, Austin Andrzejewski and Andre Todd James Cravens; two great-grandchildren, Joslynn Cravens, Ayden Cravens; two sisters, Loretta Freel of Elkhart, IN, and Arlene Flora of Mishawaka, IN; and two brothers, Richard Springer of Osceola, IN, and Danny Springer of Mishawaka, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a son, Todd Edward Cravens.

Jan was employed as a dietician for many years and cared for her mother until her death. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Osceola American Legion Post #308. She enjoyed cooking, baking and computer games.

A Celebration of Life service for Jean will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in the Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home, Osceola. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Fr. Daneil Scheidt of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka will preside. Immediately following the service at the funeral home there will be a dinner served in the Osceola American Legion.

Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Autism.
