SOMERSET – Victoria "Vickie" (St. Denis) Castonguay 62, of 500 Wilbur Avenue, Somerset, entered into eternal rest Monday, April 13, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Victor “Vic” St. Denis and the late Margaret D. (Lafleur) St. Denis, she lived in Fall River most of her life, and wintered in Bradenton, Florida, for the last sixteen years.
A graduate of Mt. St. Mary’s Academy Class of 1964 and St. Anne’s School of Radiology, Mrs. Castonguay was a former co-owner of Vic’s Car Washes and Towing, and the Main Street Garage. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, traveling, playing bingo, and watching the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by her former husband, Joseph R. J. Castonguay; a son, Gary Castonguay and his beloved companion, Tricia Zarlenga; a granddaughter, Sydney Nicole Castonguay; and a longtime friend, Aline Clement; one uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her funeral will be held Friday, April 17, 2009, at 7:30AM from THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in St. John of God Church, 996 Brayton Ave., Somerset. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
