Tulia, Texas—Doris Amburn, 93, died Thursday, October 10, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 17, 2013 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone and Rev. Charles Davenport, officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Doris was born June 27, 1920 in Bangs, Texas to Lillian and Curtis Stacy. She grew up in Bangs and graduated high school there. She received her BA for Howard Payne University and her MBA from Texas Tech University. She married W.A. "Dub" Amburn. She and her husband owned and operated Amburn's and KTUE Radio Station for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her identical twin sister: Iris Cate, her brother: Darwin Stacy, her step children: Doris Lindeman and Kenneth Amburn and a great niece: Wendy Ashwell.

Her family includes two nieces: Jerella Keim and husband John of Tulia and Marian Ashwell and husband Reed of Dallas, two great nieces and one great nephew, two great, great nieces and one great, great nephew and Doris Lindeman's children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 16, 2013, at the funeral home.
