She was born March 26, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of the late Alvin and Bertha Lang Stahlberg.
Mrs. Porter was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School and was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of Church of the Covenant in Washington.
On August 16, 1950, in Washington, she married John N. Porter, who died April 20, 1990.
Surviving are two sons, William N. (Mary Ann) Porter of Mason, Ohio, and Thomas R. (Debbie) Porter of Tomball, Texas; a daughter, Jeanne (Kirk) Spiegel of Washington; a brother, Alvin "Bob" Stahlberg of Washington; two sisters, Dolores (Craig) Wayman of Pleasantville, N.Y., and Jeanie (Ray) Gee of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; four grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Spiegel and Adrienne and Laura Porter; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, with the Rev. Stuart Broberg officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Citizens Library, 55 South College Street, Washington 15301, or to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
