Freda E. Stapleton Akers Olberding, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Shawn Manor Nursing Home. She was 86.
The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Memorial Park in Bartlesville, OK with Brother Joe Conn of Cleveland, OK, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Freda was born on December 23, 1922 to Porter Meade Stapleton and Marvie Faye (Silvis) Stapleton in the Boston Mountains in Arkansas. She married Jimmie P. Akers, Sr. on July 31, 1942 in Bartlesville and faithfully attended Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son Jimmie P. Akers, Jr. and his wife Darla; two brothers Jerry Wayne Stapleton and his wife Pam of Jacksonville, FL; Bud Stapleton and his wife Alsie Mae of Bartlesville; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 1904 N. Union, Suite 103, Ponca City, OK 74601.
