Born June 9, 1924 in Castle Shannon, she was a daughter of John and Marie Bernarding Staudt. She married Harry J. Guthrie on June 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2009.
She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Her hobbies included crocheting, painting, reading, crossword puzzles, baking and listening to music.
Survivors include her children, Dorothy Gage and her husband, Dale, of Cochranton, Mary Jane Bennett and her husband, Edward, of Meadville, Harry J. Guthrie and his wife, Christine, of Cochranton, John E. Guthrie and his wife, Shannon, of Cochranton, and Bette Perry and her husband, Robert, of Cochranton; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; three sisters, Margie Guthrie of Hadley, Emma Dodson and her husband, Richard, of Greenville, and Carol Hassinger and her husband, Joseph, of Conneaut Lake; and two brothers, Al Staudt and his wife, Virginia, of Cochranton, and Bernie Staudt and his wife, Fay, of Cochranton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Healy, Rita Coast, Regina Kebert and Nancy Chisolm; and three brothers, John Staudt, Robert Staudt and Gerald Staudt.
Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Schmolt of St. Brigid's Church officiating.
Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
