Mrs. Ada Steele Barrett, wife of Fred G. Barrett, departed this life last Thursday afternoon at her home. Mrs. Barrett was born in the town of Adams. December 28, 1873, but nearly all her life was spent in Lowville. She was the eldest daughter of Emory and the late Alma Farr Steele and on August 1, 1907, was united in marriage with Fred G. Barrett. Previously she had conducted a millinery store In Lowville, and later served as correpondent for the Watertown Times and Syracuse Post-Standard. She always took an interest in community affairs and was loyal to kindred and friends. Surviving, besides her husband, are her father, Emory Steele one sister, Mrs. B. Brayton Johnson; Lowville; two brothers. Newell B. Steele. Richmond, Va., and Herbert R. Steele of this place. interment at Rural cemetery
