Andrew John David "Andy" Stone of Granbury, a retired theater owner, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 1008 at jos residence in deCordova Bend Estates. He was 81.
Mr. Stone was born Dec. 2, 1915 in Lone Wolf, Okla. to John T. And Nancy Ellen Reeves Stone. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was with the second division "Indian Head" in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He married Mary Ruth Cole Sept. 30, 1942 in Graham and lived in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas. He had been in show business since the first silent film in 1926 and operated theaters throughout Texas for 56 years. He retired from S&S Theaters in Stamford and moved to Granbury in 1987.
Survivors include one daughter, Andrea of Granbury; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997 in Acton Cemetery with Rev. H. F. Meier officiating. Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury directed.
He was preceded in death by his wife , Nancy Stone, in 1985 and two brothers, L. D. Stone of Odessa and A.V. Stone of Houston .
