Ethel, wife of Amos Newson, was the fifth child of John C. and Amanda Church Stoner. Ethel and Amos did not have children. After Amos's death Ethel continued living in Huntsville, Alabama, for a good many years. Late in life she moved to Gulfport, Mississippi, to be near her sister, Luberta Stoner Tomlinson.
