Charleston - Ida Francis Alvey, 99 years old, of St. Louis, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 1990, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 25, 1891, in Patesville, Ky., to the late William and Melinda Boling Stowe. She had lived in St. Louis for the past eight years.
She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Louis.
On May 15, 1909, she married Oscar Alvey who preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1949. Three sons also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Gene Alvey and Ray Alvey; three daughters, Mildred Coots, Hazel Poulter and Blanche Evans; a sister, Elzena Lamb; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday at St. Henry's Catholic Church here. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
