A native of Rockingham, N.C., she was the wife of the late George W. Allen and the daughter of John Stowe and Mattie Grogan Stowe, both deceased. She was a retired beautician and cosmetologist from Classic Casual Beauty Shop. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Mrs. Sandra A. Scott of Fairfax, Va.; one stepson, Mr. Steve Allen of Raleigh; one brother, Mr. Thomas Stowe of Eden; two nieces, Mrs. Janet B. Cooke of Little River, S.C. and Mrs. Phyllis Ann Howard of McDough, Ga.; and one nephew, Mr. Avery L. Belton of Winston-Salem.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Merritt, Mrs. Mildred Belton and Mrs. Beatrice McDougal; and one brother, Mr. Max Stowe.
