Flora Elizabeth Koontz, age 94, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 12, 2007 at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Missouri.
She was born August 31, 1912 in Queco, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew and Ada Reeves Stroud.
She graduated from Stet High School where she played basketball.
On January 22, 1938 she married Ralph Koontz in Cowgill, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1988.
Flora was a wife and homemaker. She was a member of the Norborne First Baptist Church and Chapel Hill Club. She loved to fish.
Flora is survived by sisters-in-law, Nadine Pryor, Elveree Koontz, Bernie Fairchild and Helen Costner, brothers-in-law, Dee Smith, Roger Horine and wife Norma, Lloyd Koontz and wife Mildred, Dale (Dude) Koontz and wife Margaret and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one brother, Clyde Stroud, and four sisters, Bessie Appleberry, Alta Eichler, Lula (Johnson) Smith and Willa Mae Horine, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri, with Reverend M. R. Hamilton officiating.
Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time on Wednesday at the church.
The family suggests contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Norborne in memory of Mrs. Koontz.
