Iona Lilly Sunday Blake was born April 9, 1931 and went to be with her Precious Lord July 14, 2007. She was a member of The Church of Christ. She is survived by one daughter Mary Buchanan and husband Helery Buchanan of Conroe, Brother Everett Sunday, one Son John Blunt and wife Jean of Conroe. Four grandchildren, David, Shelby, Stacy, and John, and twelve great grandchildren. Many friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by her husbands John James Blunt and later Lawrence (Bill) Blake, her father Albert Otis Sunday, her mother Theo Sunday, and her sister Alma Bly. She will always be remembered for her vegetable soup and coconut pies which she shared when anyone needed them. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Metcalf Funeral Home with Brother Harold Thompson and Jeff Williams officiating. The pallbearers are as follows: James Bone, John Glenn, Logan Bly, Chuck Blake, David Blunt, and James Sunday. The visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 PM. Her final resting place will be Cude Cemetery in Willis.
