Elmo Everett Taylor was born on May 3, 1884 in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, the son of William P Taylor (1849–1923) and Elizabeth Turner (Ballanfant) Taylor (1853–1934).

He was married as the 2nd husband of Isabelle "Belle" (Hudson) (McDaniel) Taylor (1885–1964), the daughter of John Thompson Hudson (1854–1905) and Mary Ann (Stephens) Hudson (1855–1939). {Belle had been married 1st to Julian Leon McDaniel (1885–1950).

A newspaper printer and member of the Nashville Typographical Union 20, who was living at 1110 Chapel Avenue, Nashville, Elmo was 58 years old and married when he died of general paralysis and syphilis on September 26, 1942 at Davidson County Hospital where he had been 21 months. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison {city, not county}.
