Mary Etta (Taylor) Camm was born on September 10, 1921 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, the daughter of Burchell Rudy Taylor and Carrie (Fielder) Taylor.

She grew up in Elizabethton where she attended elementary school and graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1940, then went on to graduate from Nursing School in Washington DC. Going on to work at Garfield Memorial Hospital, she became a Supervising Nurse in Pediatrics, overseeing three wards and up to 90 newborn babies.

In 1945, Mary Etta met Edward Joseph Camm Jr while they were canoeing on the Potomac River in Washington DC and they were married in 1946. In addition to raising 5 children, Mary Etta was an active member of Saint Philip Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity for many years.

Her family and friends were her passion and delight: She was a loving, caring and devoted mother and an inspirational treasure to the people who knew her.

Mary Etta was 93 years old and a resident of Brentwood when she passed away March 25, 2015 after an extended illness.

Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother Bobby H Taylor, and by her daughter Anna Maria Camm, she is survived by a daughter; three sons; two sisters; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Philip Catholic Church in Franklin, and burial was in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
