Fava Mae Taylor Boerhave was born to Henry and Helen(Doyen) Taylor on April 2, 1921 on the family farm in Fountain Prairie Township of Pipestone County, Minnesota where she was raised and attended country school. She then attended high school in Pipestone, Minnesota and graduated in 1940. On December 18, 1943, she was united in marriage to Walter Vos at Chandler, Minnesota,. Following their marriage, they resided in Worthington, Minnesota for 14 years. During this time, they owned and operated the F&W Roller Rink. In 1956, they moved to California and lived there until 1968 when they moved to Holland, Minnesota. On August 13, 1977, her husband preceded her in death. In 1979, she moved to the Skyway Villa Mobile Home Park in Pipestone. While living there, she met Frederick Boerhave. Hey were united in marriage on June 10, 1981 in Pipestone. Following their marriage, they enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona for several years. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1991. In the winter of 1993, Fava became a resident of the Storybrook Apartments in Pipestone. This past winter she had a re-occurrence of cancer and was a patient for a short time at the Pipestone County Medical Center. On January 30, 1995, she became a resident of the Pipestone County Nursing Unit where she died on Wednesday, March 29, 1995 at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 21 days. She is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Daryl Vos of Holland, Minnesota, and Danny Vos of Sacramento, California; four grandchildren, Daryl Vos, Jr, Donna Vos, Michael Vos, and Monique Vos; two great-grandchildren, Michael Vos, Jr., and Katrina Vos. She was preceded in death by her two husbands and her parents.
