Hannah was the daughter of Orange Thomas and Peggy Hampton. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama. Her siblings were, Celie Ann, Annie, Rebecca, Emma, Orange Jr, William and Hampton Boyd Thomas.

She married Harry Carilla July 16, 1912 in Union Springs, AL and this union produced two children, Carrie and Sarah also known as "Johnnie Lee".

After the drowning death of her first husband, she married William Webb son of William Webb, Sr and Sophie Weaver on May 17, 1919. Their children were Glister, Jessie, Milton, Izear, Annie-Kate and William Webb, Jr.

In 1955, Hannah left Tuskegee, Alabama and moved to Yardley, Pennsylvania and eventually Trevose, Pa.

A god fearing woman, she was a member of the Huntingdon Valley Church and later the Community Baptist Church in Bristol, Pa.
