Chesmore Vernon Montique Thomas was born in Trinidad on September 19, 1953 to Claudina Montique Magdalena and Vernon Francois. Later he migrated to New Jersey.

He attended and graduated from Essex County College and Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. He worked for 18 years at AT&T as a Senior Area Manager.

His faith in the Lord was strong and lead him to the ministry participating in every aspect of serving the Lord. As a member for 17-18 years at All Saints Episcopal Church in Orange, NJ he served as a Warden and Treasurer. He also attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Orange, NJ for seven years, serving as the Treasurer. Over the years he participated on many church committees, using his talents to support the International Dance, the Pancake Supper, the 100 Year Anniversary Ball and still had time to devote to the soup kitchen.

Monty was an exceptional cook who enjoyed reading, collecting sailboats, traveling, going to the theater and movies. He loved the dirt and was an outstanding gardener who was recognized on his block for his beautiful flowers and plants.
