Deborah Ann Thomas-Becote was born July 22, 1963 in Paterson, New Jersey, to Zellie and Margaret (Brewer) Thomas.

Debbie, as she was affectionately called attended Eastside High School where she was a member of the track team where she was the County Shot Put Champion and won State Championship four years in a row.

Upon her graduation from Eastside High School in 1981, she attended William Paterson University and Passaic County Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration.

Debbie was formally employed by New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicle, Paterson Municipal Court, Passaic County Register of Deeds and Administrative Assistant for the Law Office of her beloved brother, Charles Thomas, Esq.

Baptized and a member of First AME Zion Church, she was a member and first soprano in the Young Voices of Zion.

On August 10, 1985 Debbie married the love of her life Jeffery Becote. Debbie loved her family, reading, traveling, photography, rainbows, and creating odd jewelry. She was the Queen of shopping on the HSN Network. But most of all she enjoyed quiet walks in the parks with her darling dog, Lexus. Peaceful, serene, grateful and would always give her last with a smile that was our Debbie.

On December 1, 2013 God saw it best to call Debbie to her eternal home to join her Father Zellie Thomas Sr, her mother Margaret B. Thomas, her cherished brothers, Zellie Jr. and Michael and grandmother, Cleola "Gumma "Brewer.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Jeffery Becote of Paterson, New Jersey, three sisters, Barbara I Evans (George) of West Orange, New Jersey, Priscilla Stevens, and Charlene Thomas, of Paterson, New Jersey, and a brother Charles Thomas, of Paterson, New Jersey and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
