Isabel was born in Malvern, England. At the age of 18 she met her husband, Arthur Barbetto, an American GI stationed in England during WWII, when he visited her father's pub. They married at the end of the war and Isabel came to America arriving in New York City aboard the Queen Mary. She lived in Egg Harbor City for 70 years and raised her family there. She was a long time parishioner of the Egg Harbor Moravian Church. She loved traveling with her family and introducing them to adventures including camping, cruising, and trips back to England. Isabel was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting with the Lafayette Quilters. She was also a member of the Rain Makers camping club and War Brides Association. She enjoyed square dancing and country line dancing and never missed an opportunity to travel. Isabel was the epitome of a lady.
She is predeceased in death by her husband Arthur and a great-granddaughter Brailyn. She is lovingly survived by her brother, in England, Donald (Mary) Thomas: her four children; Rodney (Diana) Barbetto, Maureen (Jerome) Carrozzino, Karen (Gary) Owen, Lynne (Guy) Kienzle; her grandchildren Kristen, John, Ryan, Barry, Kalynn, Michelle, Julie, and Rodney; 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. They will all miss her greatly until they meet again.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday evening at the Moravian Church, 235 Boston Avenue Egg Harbor City, NJ from 5:00- 7:30 PM. A service will be held at 7:30 PM following the viewing. A private burial will be on the following day with interment at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
