Mrs. Clevenger was born in Mount Holly, the daughter of the late George and Elsie Steelman Thomas.
She was a lifelong resident of the Lumberton-Mount Holly area. Her life revolved around her family.
Mrs. Clevenger was the wife of the late Clarence, and she is survived by six children: Robert Clevenger (Paulette) of Hainesport, Edward Clevenger of Lumberton, Betty Ann Worrell (Rodney), Jean Blum (Jim), Mary Ann Poinsett (John), and Susan Clevenger, all of Lumberton. She also is survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Margaret Taylor of Moorestown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Lumberton. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
