Gerald M. Thompson, 63, a former parts clerk for an auto firm, died yesterday at his home at 2011 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael. Although he had been in ill health for some time, his death was unexpected.
A resident of Marin for 20 years, he formerly was with Dervin Motors, Novato. He was a member of Marin Lodge 191, F & AM, and of San Rafael Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a native of Salt Lake City.
He is survived by his wife Edna R. Thompson; 2 daughters, Mrs. Elaine Caloca of Salinas, and Mrs. Geraldine Jeske of Gilroy; a son, J. Edward Thompson of Redwood City; 2 sisters, Mrs. Emma Kunter of Shelley, ID; and Mrs. Irene Knight of Lake City; 2 brothers, Walker A. Thompson of Van Nuys, and Comer Thompson of Los Angeles, and 5 grandchildren.
