Eleanor R. Thompson, of 1416 Cambridge Street, Novato, a retired Immigration and Naturalization Service employee, died Thursday, March 10, 2011.

Ms. Thompson was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1916 and would have been ninety-five on April 1. Her career working as a civil servant had given her the opportunity to live in many cities before she came to the Bay Area. She was an avid traveler and had visited many places around the world. She was a longtime Novato resident.

Ms. Thompson leaves nephew, David Anderson of Kingsburg, California; niece, Beulah Forsgren of Panama City Beach, Florida; niece, Margaret Gernand of Jeffersonville, Indiana; niece, Eleanor Huggins of Leisenring, Pennsylvania; niece, Pamela Panchot of Tucson, Arizona; nephew, Duane Thompson of Waconia, Minnesota; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.

A service for Ms. Thompson will be held at Valley Memorial Park on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.
