Katherine V. Leahy, 99, of Stafford Springs, CT, and formerly of Fairfield, CT, wife of the late Edward J. Leahy, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Ann (Brennan) Tierney. Katherine was a graduate of the Yale School of Nursing, and retired as a registered nurse. She also served her country during World War II in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford. Katherine is survived by her niece, Karen Karng, and several other nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 form 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. Memorial donations may be made to Evergreen Health Care Center, Recreation Fund, 205 Chestnut Hill Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
