Patricia Tierney Sipples, 76, of Meriden, beloved wife of the late Paul K. Sipples, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Gaylord Hospital.

Pat was born in Meriden, February 24, 1934, a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Agnes Ann McAndrew Tierney and was a graduate of Meriden High School and Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing. She had been the Director of Nursing at many area medical facilities, and was an active member of St. Joseph Parish and a C.Y.O. Leader, belonged to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians and the International Association of Turtles – Imperial Jewel Chapter. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball Team and enjoyed her vacations in Misquamicut and Aruba.

She is survived by her daughter, Maura Jean Sipples; her two sisters, Mary Joan Paluszewski, and Claire Marie Price of Australia; her brother, Raymond J. Tierney; her stepmother, Claire M. Tierney; and several very special and close nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann and Bill Murphy.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, Friday, April 16, 2010. Funeral services will be held Saturday from The Wallingford Funeral Home when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph Church in Meriden where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
