Alice C. Tierney, 85, of West Haven, wife of the late John J. Tierney Jr., passed away August 31, 2013 at her home.
She was born in New Haven on November 17, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Belbusti Cirioni.
She worked as a clerk for over 28 years with Southern New England Telephone Company until retiring in 1991. She led an active life and enjoyed crafts, painting and cross country skiing.
She is survived by her son, Jack J. Tierney of West Haven, her daughter, Diane M. Tierney and her companion Jimmy of West Haven; and two grandchildren, Justin M. Tierney and his wife Michico and Kevin J. Tierney. She also leaves behind her cat, Marcus.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy L. Perono, her brother, Albert Cirioni and her sister, Rose Griffith.
Her funeral will be from Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven at 10 am on Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Our Lady of Victory Church.
Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
