Lucy TILBURY Hiatt was the first child of Carey and Sarah McKIBBEN Tilbury. She grew up in many small towns in Kansas and Oklahoma as her father opened several churches. She was a teacher for a short time in Clarinda, KA. She married Alonzo Hiatt in 1888 when both were living in Clarinda, Kansas. They made their home at Freedom, OK and then at Alva, OK. Together they had two sons; Americus Carey (changed to Mack) and E. Clarence. She died after surgery for appendicitis. From her obituary: these are the four sisters listed still living at the time of Lucy's death in 1929.
1. Mrs. E. L. (Grace) Johnson of Indianapolis, Indiana, b. 1870 – mother born in Illinois. Her husband's name was Elmer. I found a 1930 census with them living in Anderson, Madison Co, Indiana. I cannot find where she is buried.

2. Mrs. J. L. ( Flola May) Halstead, in Alva in 1929. b, 1875 Iowa, d. 1960 Cherokee, Alfalfa Co, OK
3. Mrs. W.L. (Georgia Emma) Ayres, Carmen, OK,
4. Mrs. Edward (Anna Belle) Talley, Driftwood, OK. Her death certificate states b. 16 Oct 1878. She died at San Antonio, TX on 3 Feb 1965.
