Russian nobility. Daughter of the City Governor of Moscow, Count Paul Shuvalov (1859-1905) and Countess Alexandra Hillarionovna Vorontsova-Dashkova. He was assassinated by a terrorist when she was 11 years old. July 5, 1917 she married Dmitri Alexandrovitch Obolensky, with whom she emigrated to Malta and England after the revolution in 1920. They later divorced and she married in February 15, 1921 (or 1922) Count Andre Dmitrievich Tolstoy (1892-1963), General Wrangel's former aide-de-camp. They lived in Nice, Paris, and New York, where they moved in 1945. After Andre's death in 1963 she lived in San Francisco, and from there moved to Oxford, England, where she died.
