Melva Luella Bowie, 88, of Crowley, TX, formerly of Holton and McLouth, KS, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Ft. Worth, TX. She was born April 4, 1927 in Valley Falls, KS the daughter of Cecil and Luella (White) Tosh. Melva had lived in McLouth from 1955-1998, in Holton from 1998-2015 and had moved to Crowley, TX in February 2015 to be with her son. On April 12, 1946 she married Earl Richard Bowie in Valley Falls. She was a homemaker and also helped on the family dairy farm....
Melva was preceded in death by her brothers, Millard and Donald Tosh and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, 66436.
