Anna Tosh Cargill was born at Fraesburg, Scotland, July 13, 1840, and died at her home in Palmer, Nebraska July 16, 1930, at the age of 90 years and three days.
She was married in Scotland to William Young. After his death and her second marriage she moved to Newcastle, England, where her husband, James Fowlie, died. To this union were born her only living children, James Fowlie and Mrs. Anne Hartford of Palmer.
She came to America in the fall of 1887, settling at Spring Ranch in Clay County.
She was married to Robert Cargill in February 1889, at Clay Center, Nebraska. In 1891 they moved to Gage Valley neighborhood and farmed until 1905, when they moved to Palmer.
Mrs Cargill was baptized when a girl in the Free Church of Scotland and was a regular attendent of the Methodist Church in Gage Valley, and also in Palmer when physically able.
She was a woman of estimable character, a good neighbor and a loyal friend.
Her surviving son and daughter and many other relatives have the utmost sympathy of a very large number of friends for the loss of so fine a mother.
Funeral services were conducted by E. H. Tipton of Palmer, at her home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment in the Palmer Cemetery by her late husband, Robert Cargill.
