Salvatore Joseph Toto, age 78, died on September 29, 2012. Born and raised in Woodbury, Salvatore attended Woodbury High School. Salvatore served in the Merchant Marines and the U. S. Army from 1951-1954. He has lived in Woodbury Heights, NJ for over 45 years. He was an active union member since 1958. Salvatore worked as a boiler maker for Local 28, Bayonne from 1975 until his retirement in 1997.
He enjoyed traveling, loved going to the beach and sitting in the sun. He also enjoyed working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane B.(nee Cramer); children Lisa Hecht, Dominic Joseph Toto, Nicole Toto; sisters Teresa Wolff, Lucille Reichert, honorary grandchildren Julissa and Guiseppe and his beloved faithful companion, Brindle.
Friends may greet the family after 5 p. m. on Thursday in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave.(Kings Hwy), Woodbury, NJ.
Funeral service will be at 7 p. m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a NO KILL SHELTER AT THE ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER, 501 N. Berlin Rd., Lindenwold, NJ 08021.
