AUSTINTOWN – There will be a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown with the Rev. Msgr. Kenneth E. Miller celebrating the Mass for Carmel Lee Toto, 64, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 24.
Carmel was born July 13, 1949, in Youngstown, the daughter of Henry Donnaurnmo and Angeline (Petrella) Donnaurnmo.
Carmel was a retired registered nurse and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was a 1967 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Carmel became a registered nurse in 1970 from Akron City Hospital and obtained her master's degree in Nursing from Akron University in 1985. She was selected as "Woman of the Year" from ABWA in 1985. Carmel strived and became a certified wound care nurse along with other numerous certifications.
The love of her life, Leonard J. Toto, whom she married Aug. 14, 1971, passed away May 28, 2012.
Carmel will always be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Leonard J. (Audrie) Toto II of Youngstown, James Toto of Columbus and Roger Toto of Austintown; two grandchildren, Isabella and James Toto; four siblings, Tony (Norene) Donnaurmmo of Austintown, Janice Draper of Louisville, Ky., Michael (Janet) Donnaurmmo of Austintown and Larry (Janet) Donnaurmmo of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Caspary.
