“Mrs. Cora E. Fox, resident of Wayland, died April 5 in Willard State hospital where she had been a short time, but she had been in ill health for several months. She was born in Patchinville, July 13, 1862, the daughter of Jeremiah and Mahala Jenks Totten. She was twice married, her first husband being James Dalton, who died in 1905. On March 31, 1909, she was married to Clarence Fox, who died in 1936. She was a member of Wayland First Methodist church. Surviving are 3 stepchildren, Geo. W. Fox of Wayland, Mrs. Ernest E. Look of Canisteo and Mrs. Robert F. Cook, a missionary in Chengannur, South India; 3 step-grandchildren, George, Alexander and Paul Cook, and 5 cousins, Mrs. Gertrude Woodard of Wayland, Miss Ruby Kester of near Corning, Clifford Wilson of Wayland, Mrs. Archie Helmer of Fremont and Mrs. Lena Rhone of Windom Hill. The funeral was held from the Allen funeral home in Wayland, April 8, with Rev. A.L. Underhill officiating. Burial in East Wayland cemetery.”
