Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home
Mary Katholeen Towns Babb, 91, of Kemp, celebrated her birth into heaven on May 13, 2011.
She was born November 5, 1919 in Wellington, Texas. As a young girl she learned to play the piano by watching the church organ player and would remember hand placements and practice later at home on her own, eventually teaching herself to play quite well.
Mary graduated from Wellington (Texas) High School with the Class of 1936. She later graduated from Baylor University with her Bachelor of Nursing Degree in 1940.
Feeling the call to help people and give more of herself, she worked tirelessly in her profession. She was a talented painter, pouring out beautiful still life work in her spare time.
She married the love of her life, Harold Babb and cherished forty six years of marriage until his passing in 1987. Always caring, Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and angel herself to many people in her care lucky to have had the opportunity to be her patient.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Harold Babb.
Those left to cherish her memory include Donna Pringle and husband, James, of Kemp; one son, Clifford Babb of Missouri City, grandsons, Grant Witherspoon of Lewisville, Jonathan Babb of Missouri City along with nieces, nephews and friends.
