Maxine Johnson, 88, passed away Tuesday, Dec, 11,2012 in Claude. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, Dec 14, 2012 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Joe P.Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm today, Dec 13, 2012 at the funeral home. She was born Aug 8, 1924, to John and Daisy Tubman in Dalhart, Texas. She married James Samuel Johnson on Feb 26,1949 in Plainview, Texas. He preceded her in death. She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Barbara McCollum and one grandson, Michael Paul McCollum. She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Pugh and husband L.J. of Fort Worth, Texas and Ruth Cunningham of Amarillo, Texas; sons, Gary Johnson and wife Debbie of Claude, Texas and Dusty Johnson and wife Glenda of Plainview, Texas, one sister, Mildred Huguley and husband A.G. of Olton, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
