Mr. Charlie Roy Tucker, age 81, of Jamestown, AL, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Tucker was born in Jamestown, AL on April 13, 1931, son of the late Joe Isaac Tucker and Lula Ann Burgess Tucker. He was of the Baptist Faith and prior to retirement was employed in the Textile Industry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Marie Tucker; brothers, Luther Tucker, Frank Tucker and Bert Tucker and a sister, Lena Mae Mason.
Mr. Tucker is survived by his wife, Virginia Sue Goodridge Tucker; children, Gene & Faye Tucker, Gayle & Terry Gazaway, Deborah & Jimmy Howard, Michael Tucker, Annette & Ricky Broome, Jeanette & Daniel Bone, Joey Tucker, Stacy Tucker; a brother, Max Tucker; 19 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Tucker will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Minister J.W. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Moseley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donny Gazaway, Brian Gazaway, John Tucker, David Howard, Frankie Aldridge and Joseph Tucker.
Mr. Tucker will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M.
