Ruby V. Blaylock Rites To Be Held November
17; Burial In Pleasant Ridge Cemetery
Ruby V. Blaylock, age 85, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her residence.
Ruby was born September 23, 1921 in Winfield, Alabama the daughter of Elijah and Zora Downey Tucker. She later married Leonard A. Blaylock on October 14, 1939 in Gattman, Mississippi. He preceded his wife in death on March 27, 1971. Ruby was a homemaker. Earlier she was the bookkeeper, for Blaylock Tree Service which she and her husband owned. She had also worked for the Regalia Mfg. Co., Rock Island, Illinois. Ruby enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., from the The Peoples Tabernacle Church in Sulligent, Alabama. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Otts Funeral Home, Sulligent, Alabama. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Otts Funeral Home, Sulligent, Alabama. An earlier visitation was held Monday, November 13, 2006 at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, Illinois.
Survivors include her children and their spouses;..., 40 grandchildren; 104 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Blaylock, Sulligent, Alabama; Sue Taylor, Peoria, Arizona; a brother, Robert Tucker, Rockford, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers.
