Grove, OK --- Helen Nadine Silvers, 89, of Grove, Oklahoma, formerly of Nevada, Missouri, died at 4:23 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Integris Grove Hospital at Grove, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Silvers was born January 27, 1931 at Arcadia, Kansas the daughter of Alfred and Lavena May Twombly Buchanan.

Helen was a homemaker and later a secretary for Western Insurance Company in Ft. Scott, Kansas.

She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1948.

She moved to Kansas City after her marriage and raised her family until Tug retired in 1998 and moved to Nevada, Missouri. She later moved to Grove in 2017 to be near family.

She married Kenneth Carl "Tug" Silvers on May 29, 1952 at Girard, Kansas. Mr. Silvers preceded her in death March 12, 2010. She was a member of the Arcadia Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Lee (Shari) Silvers of Grove, Oklahoma and Larry David (Barbara) Silvers of Nevada, Missouri, two daughters, Deanna (Jeff) Sola of Maryville, Tennessee and Pamela (Scott) Newhouse of Davenport, Florida, a sister, Irene Williams of Stanwood, Washington, ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tug, five sisters, Thelma Medley, Louise Davenport, Maxine Short, Mary Elizabeth King, and Thelma Boone, and two brothers, Charles and Joe Buchanan.

Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating.

Private family graveside services will follow at the National Cemetery at Ft. Scott, Kansas. Face masks and social distancing will be required.

The family suggests memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
