Mildred E. (Twombly) Chase, 86, formerly of Route 152, died Jan. 28, 2009, at the Rockingham Nursing Home, Brentwood.

Born Oct. 29, 1922, in Nottingham, she was the daughter of Gardner C. and Merle E. (Gerrish) Twombly. She had resided in Nottingham for most of her life. She was a life member of the Nottingham Historical Society.

She was the widow of Willis Chase, who died in 1986 and was also predeceased by brothers, Raymond and Ralph.

Mildred is survived by two sons, Ronald Chase Sr. of Nottingham and Gary E. Chase of Strafford; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert Twombly of Nottingham; three sisters, Marion Chase and Marjorie Foss, both of Nottingham and Marilyn Palmer of Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, at 1 p.m. in South Side Cemetery, Nottingham.
