Without any warning Mrs Allen left this life at 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening. Her husband left her only a few minutes previous laughing and joking apparently in the best of health.
She had given birth to a bouncing baby boy just a week before and was improving nicely.
Mrs Allen was the ninth out of eleven children. Mrs Vail has laid away. She was born September 5, 1894 in Sharon, Idaho, but spent most of her early life in Thayne.
She was married to Joseph Allen about eight years ago to which union has been born one daughter and three sons-three of whom are still living.
Funeral services were held in the Smoot ward on Tuesday where a very large crowd gathered to pay her their last respects. The speakers being Counsellor R.H. Woolf of the bishopric of the Riverside, Idaho ward where Bro and Sister Allen had lived two years. He spoke of her willingness to work and do her duty and of her skill as a teacher in the primary organizations of both Riverdale and Smoot wards.
Pres. L.A. Mecham, Sister Allen's uncle and one of the Franklin Stake Presidency also gave consoling remarks. Also A.M. Packer and Bp. Peterson made timely remarks.
E.M. Packer and wife sang, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" very beautifully.
Among the many relatives, too many to mention at this writing were Sister Allen's uncle Will Mecham from Snake river and her sister Vinda Mecham of Elko Nevada.
The entire community extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
